The meeting in Malta that took place on 26 May 2025 in the Archbishop’s Major Seminary in Rabat was a key moment with the participation of numerous European associations. A new Board was elected, with the addition of a new member representing the Federació do Associacions de Amics del Camí de Sant Jaume de Catalunya and the introduction of president of Het Nederlands Genootschap van Sint Jacob.
The composition of the new Board is as follows:
- President: Pascal Duchêne – Association Belge Amis St Jacques Compostelle (Belgium)
- Vice president: Védran Prazen – Hrvatska bratovština svetog Jakova (Croatia)
- Secretary: Patrice Bernard – Société Française des Amis de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle
- Treasurer: Philippe Dionnet – Compostelle France

- Peter Hesseling: Het Nederlands Genootschap van Sint Jacob – Project consultant
- Heidi Verbruggen: Vlaams Compostela Genootsschap – Hospitality

The meeting approved and began to work on three major projects proposed by the various national associations; Accoglienza Pellegrina will be working on these projects along with the other European associations, with the common goal of bringing new value to the pilgrimage paths of Europe:
- “Stars of the Heritage of Santiago” project proposed by the Spanish federation F.E.A.A.C.S. and the Institut de Recherche Jacquaire di Tours;
- “Pilgrimage for youth” project proposed by Nederlands Compostela Genootschap, Asociatia prientenilor Camino de Santiago (Romania) and Vlaams Compostela Genootschap;
- “A European Camino de Santiago connecting the sanctuaries of Europe” project presented by the Société Française des Amis de Saint-Jacques and the Association Belge des Amis de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.
