During the meeting held in July 2024, Accoglienza Pellegrina was invited to join the C.E.C., of which Hosvol was already a member through the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago (FEAACS). The principal participating associations also considered it important that we should be represented on the Board, as a voice representing aspects concerning traditional pilgrim hospitality. Our participation allows us to make ourselves known and make our contribution, on the basis of our values, to everything that is happening in the world of the Camino de Santiago and the associations working in various countries in Europe.
In the year 2024, as representatives of Italy and on behalf of the C.E.C., we made an important contribution to the preparation of a new edition of the European map of Camino routes toward Santiago produced by the Spanish Geographical Institute, bringing order to the Italian routes, which had not accurately represented reality in the previous edition. Our work with Luciano Callegari was of essential importance here: his competence and great experience made it possible to complete this complex task.
